This work present a proposal of environmental education developed with children of 5th grade of elementary school from the recognition of the limits and environmental and cultural potentialities of the territory of La Mesa, Cundinamarca, Colombia in the face of climate change. To do this, a participatory environmental diagnosis is made (PED) through a social mapping exercise and characterize the problems of the territory against climate change in the cultural and environmental dimension, then a proposal is developed to integrate climate change into the curriculum and finally the learning of children in relation to climate change in their territory is evaluated. The research is done with the focus of the action through successive coils of planning, action, observation and reflection. Although it was not easy for children to understand the technical vocabulary with which government institutions have communicated the problem of climate change so far, it was more important to recognize the effects that climate change can have on their lives, on their territory and on their families both now and in the near future.
