Objective: The objective of the study is to determine the maximum oxygen consumption in athletes in training in the municipality of Tocancipá through the Luc Leger test. Methodology: Descriptive type with quantitative approach in the variable of VO2 máx. According to sex and age characteristics, 435 athletes participated, where 35% of the sample belongs to the female gender and 65% to the male that in turn belong to 11 sports modalities between 11 and 17 years old. In the sport variable, male sex, the group sports show higher VO2 with 46.10 ml/Kg/min, in female, individual sports with 45.52 ml/Kg/min. Conclusions: 27% of the evaluated population is below p <20 with a value of 36.64 ml/Kg/min, 56% is in p <50 is 39.97 ml/Kg/min and 20% of the sample is above p> 90, showing higher levels with a value of 51.87 ml/Kg/min, these values allow to recognize the capacity cardiorespiratory that the evaluated individuals report to identify actions in a timely manner in the direction of the training according to the age range and sports modality
