Introduction: Physical activity and exercise are healthy lifestyle habits for all people, including women during the gestational period, where the mother's body is arranged to favor the development and maturation of the fetus for almost 40 weeks. The World Health Organization (WHO) proposes to exercise during pregnancy because nowadays science has provided multiple evidences of the benefits that exercise has quickly prescribed in healthy pregnant mothers and their babies during the gestation period as well as in pregnancy. Postpartum period. Objective: To determine the level of physical activity in pregnant women through the questionnaire Questionnaire of physical activity of pregnancy belonging to a health provider in Bogotá. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study of the quantitative approach developed in the city of Bogotá where pregnant mothers voluntarily filled out the PPAQ questionnaire. Results: The information recorded by 407 pregnant women, with an average age of 28 years, was analyzed. The average physical activity or total energy expenditure was 229.16 METs minutes / week with a standard deviation of 123.59. The average energy expenditure in sports or exercise activities was 4.43 METs min / wk, while energy expenditure in occupational activities averaged 91.27 METs min / wk. 1.96% of the sample classified in the level of MODERATE physical activity. While 98.04% of the sample classified in the level of LOW physical activity. Conclusions: Low and moderate levels of physical activity are reported in the sample of pregnant mothers of the EPS, Sanitas, Bogotá.
