Evaluación in vitro de la eficacia antiparasitaria de los extractos metanólicos de corteza y hoja de Guazuma ulmifolia en nematodos Cyathostominae

Abstract

Frente a las problemáticas derivadas del uso exclusivo de los antihelmínticos convencionales para el control parasitarios, se buscan estrategias de control sobre el ciclo de los nematodos causantes de problemas sanitarios, entre estas la medicina etnobotánica, razón por la que este trabajo evaluó in vitro el efecto inhibitorio de la eclosión de los extractos metanólicos de la corteza y hoja de Guazuma ulmifolia sobre los huevos de nemátodos Cyathostominae de equinos. Se utilizaron extractos metanólicos de la corteza y de las hojas de la planta y se evaluaron concentraciones de 1000, 500 y 250µg/ml, un control negativo (H2O) y dos controles positivos (Fenbendazol y Lugol). La evaluación se realizó mediante la prueba de Inhibición de la Eclosión de huevos recomendada por la Asociación Mundial para el Avance de la Parasitología Veterinaria, con el calculo del efecto inhibitorio mediante la fórmula: 100 - % de eclosión. Se empleó el modelo ANOVA para el análisis estadístico, seguido por la comparación múltiple mediante la prueba Duncan, esto basado en la verificación de supuestos de normalidad con las pruebas Shapiro-Wilk y Levene. Se encontró, que las diferentes concentraciones de los extractos y los controles positivos tenían diferencia significativa frente al control negativo. La concentración de 1000µg/ml tuvo una media de inhibición de eclosión de 49,73% y 45,22% para corteza y hoja respectivamente, la concentración de 500µg/ml fue 61,93% y 59,20% para corteza y hoja, y las concentraciones de 250 µg/ml tuvieron valores de 75,60% y 75,82% para corteza y hoja, estas ultimas presentaron menor error estándar. Igualmente, se identificaron todas las concentraciones con medias estadísticamente semejantes, lo que evidencia la misma efectividad frente a la inhibición de eclosión de huevos. Based on the problems that come from the conventional use of l anthelmintics for parasitic control, strategies are researched to control the cycle of nematodes that cause health problems, as ethnobotanical medicine; Due to those problems, this work evaluated in vitro the inhibitory effect of the hatching that has the methanolic extracts of the bark and leaf of Guazuma ulmifolia on the eggs of nematodes Cyathostominae of equines. Methanolic extracts of the bark and leaves of the plant were used on concentrations of 1000, 500 and 250 µg / ml, as well a negative control (H2O) and two positive controls (Fenbendazole and Lugol) were evaluated. The evaluation was done using the Egg Hatching Inhibition test recommended by the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology, and the inhibitory effect was calculated using the formula: 100 -% hatching. The ANOVA model was used for statistical analysis, followed by multiple comparisons using the Duncan test, this based on the verification of normality and homogeneity with the Shapiro-Wilk and Levene tests. It was found that the different concentrations of the extracts and the positive controls had a significant difference compared to the negative control. The 1000µg / ml concentration had a mean hatching inhibition of 49.73% and 45.22% for bark and leaf respectively, for the 500µg / ml concentration was 61.93% and 59.20% this for bark and leaf as well, and the 250 µg / ml concentrations had values of 75.60% and 75.82% for bark and leaf, those last ones presented lower standard error. Likewise, all concentrations with statistically similar means were identified, which shows the same effectiveness against the inhibition of egg hatching.
