Reporte de caso de mesenquimoma maligno esplénico grado 2 en un canino

Abstract

Un canino hembra mestizo se presentó a la clínica veterinaria U.D.C.A, ya que hace unos días los propietarios notaron que su abdomen estaba creciendo, la notaron débil, inapetente y aumentó su consumo de agua. Realizaron una ecografía abdominal donde se evidenció una masa esplénica sospechando inicialmente de un posible hemangioma o hemangiosarcoma. La paciente presentaba una masa en el miembro posterior derecho que había sido extirpada anteriormente y volvió a crecer poco tiempo después, a esta masa no se le realizó histopatología. En la clínica veterinaria UDCA, se realizaron exámenes y la paciente ingreso a hospitalización para lograr estabilizarla lo mejor posible antes de ingresar al procedimiento de esplenectomía, finalmente este procedimiento se realizó, la paciente se recuperó y el resultado de la histopatología mostro un diagnóstico de mesequimoma maligno esplénico grado 2, las propietarias optaron por ofrecer calidad de vida a la paciente sin someterla a un tratamiento específico para la enfermedad.

A mongrel female canine was presented to the U.D.C.A veterinary clinic, since a few days ago the owners noticed that her abdomen has been growing, she was weak, inappetent and with polydipsia. An abdominal ultrasound was performed which revealed a splenic mass, initially suspecting a possible hemangioma or hemangiosarcoma. The patient had a mass in the right hindlimb that had been previously removed and grew back a short time later. Histopathology was not performed on this mass. At the UDCA veterinary clinic, tests were carried out and the patient was hospitalized to stabilize her as best as possible before entering the splenectomy procedure, finally this procedure was performed, the patient recovered and the result of histopathology showed a diagnosis of mesechymoma grade 2 splenic malignancy, the owners chose to offer quality of life to the patient without subjecting her to a specific treatment for the disease.
