Análisis de las causas y las consecuencias de la implementación del Brexit, desde la perspectiva de los Negocios Internacionales

Abstract

El presente trabajo hace un análisis de las causas que llevaron al Reino Unido (RU) a retirarse de la Unión Europea (UE) y sus consecuencias, hecho marcado por primera vez a lo largo de la historia de la UE, el cual cambio inevitablemente las dinámicas institucionales. Se busca analizar y estudiar los impactos del Brexit visto desde la perspectiva de los Negocios Internacionales. La Unión Europea (UE) es una de las agrupaciones de integración económica y política regional más importantes del mundo, y un ejemplo de cooperación profunda y amplia. El RU fue uno de los principales miembros de la UE, y, por lo tanto, ha sido uno de los países con más influencia política y económica dentro de este bloque continental, sin embargo, ha mantenido cierta distancia con la UE desde su integración en el año 1973. RU tuvo un estatus especial dentro de la UE, ya que desde su asociación no había aceptado todos los aspectos que conlleva esta unión. Esta polémica relación político, económica y social alcanzo un punto de quiebre el 23 de junio de 2016, año en el cual se celebró el referéndum del Brexit. (Es una abreviatura de las palabras inglesas “Britain” Gran Bretaña y “exit” salida), hecho donde la población británica voto a favor del referéndum que produjo el Brexit, como consecuencia se obtuvo la salida del RU de la UE. El resultado del referéndum cambio necesariamente las dinámicas institucionales dentro de la UE, por lo tanto, en este documento se busca analizar las consecuencias de la implementación del Brexit frente a sus cuatro libertades las cuales son: la libre circulación de personas, capital, mercancías y servicios.

The UK was one of the main members of the EU, and, therefore, has been one of the most politically and economically influential countries within this continental bloc, however, it has maintained a certain distance from the EU since its integration in 1973. The UK had a special status within the EU, as since its association it had not accepted all the aspects that this union entails. This controversial political, economic and social relationship reached a breaking point on June 23, 2016, the year in which the Brexit referendum was held (an abbreviation of the English words "Britain" Great Britain and "exit"), where the British population voted in favor of the referendum that produced the Brexit, which resulted in the UK's exit from the EU. The result of the referendum necessarily changed the institutional dynamics within the EU, therefore, this paper seeks to analyze the consequences of the implementation of Brexit against its four freedoms which are: the free movement of people, capital, goods and services.
