Un problema famoso

Abstract

En el ejercicio de mis funciones como profesor de matemáticas de la U.D.C.A. encontré propuesto un problema de extraordinario valor pedagógico, por cuanto en apariencia el problema es muy sencillo, pero al resolverlo comprensivamente en matemáticas se hacen manifiestas las etapas de interpretación, de modelación, de resolución del problema y la posibilidad de cotejar el resultado encontrado con la realidad planteada. En el desarrollo del problema, se verá que la interpretación es el proceso más importante para comprender las relaciones implícitas y explícitas planteadas en la situación. Dichas relaciones al ser modeladas y resueltas determinarán la naturaleza de la respuesta.

In the exercise of my functions as math teacher at the U.D.C.A., I found a proposed problem, with an extraordinary pedagogical valué, because the problem is apparently very easy, but when it is being comprehensively resolved, different stages of the process become evident; interpretation, modeling, problem solving and the possibility of comparing the result found with the reality that was previously established. In the development of the problem it will be seen, that interpretation is the most important process in order to understand the implicit as well as the explicit relationships that were established in the situation. Those relationships when modeled and solved will be the determinants to the answer’s nature.
