Septic peritonitis is an inflammatory condition of the peritoneum which occurs secondary to microbial contamination within the abdomen (Ragetly et al., 2011), in dogs occurs by a release of the gastrointestinal contents into the abdominal cavity, usually caused by perforation of the gastrointestinal tract by a foreign body, his treatment involves stabilization hemodynamics and correction of acid-base imbalance in the patient and in the control of the source of contamination. This article reports the case of a canine male, 2 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback breed, which presented history of loss of 1 day and decrease in the consumption of food, as abnormal findings evidenced a tubular structure in mesogastrium at abdominal palpation, and dry oral mucosa, in the abdominal ultrasound content fluid in abdomen. The analysis of abnormal findings to the general clinical examination, the diagnostic, medical and surgical treatment.eng
