Reporte de caso clínico hematoma etmoidal en un equino silla Argentina con retención dentaria

Equino hembra, Silla Argentina de 16 meses. Anamnesis: Secreción unilateral mucopurulenta en la fosa izquierda con dos meses de evolución. Hallazgos Clínicos y de Laboratorio: contenido mucopurulento en seno maxilar rostral que obstruia el paso del aire por el ollar izquierdo, epistaxis, ocena, halitosis, sialorrea, aumento de tamaño sobre cresta facial del cigomático. Por histopatología se encontró rinitis polipoide de curso crónico activo con hemorragia superficial y osteólisis moderada de tipo inflamatorio.
Aproximación terapéutica: Se instauró un tratamiento consistente en trepanación quirúrgica y stripping dental, lavados con solución salina y Gentamicina y aplicación de Penicilina-Estreptomicina. Conclusiones: Según la anamnesis, las manifestaciones clínicas y el examen radiológico, se determinó el Hematoma Etmoidal como diagnóstico definitivo el cual con el manejo quirúrgico se corrigió la alteración dental con mejoría del paciente Equine female, Argentine breed 16 months old. Anamnesis: Unilateral Secretion Mucopurulent of the left nostril with two months on evolution. Medical and labs findings: Mucopurulent discharge in rostral maxillary sinus obstructs the passage of air through the left nostril, epistaxis, smelly breathing, halitosis, sialorrhea, increase in size of the facial crest of the zygomatic. . Histopathology revealed polypoid rhinitis of active chronic course with superficial hemorrhage and moderate osteolysis of inflammatory type. Therapeutic approach: A treatment consisting of surgical trepanation and dental striping was established, washed with saline solution and Gentamicin and, administration of Penicillin-Streptomycin. Conclusions: According to the clinical story, symptoms, physical exam, radiological and histopathological evidence, Ethmoidal Hematoma was determined as the definitive diagnosis with the surgical management, the dental alteration was corrected with improvement of the patient.
