This study had as objective the analysis and diagnose of the commercial structure of some Colombian familiar companies, in order to formulate a management model that allows them to confront the market challenges. As research unit, thirty companies from different productive sectors were employed and as working unit three companies, Pizano S.A. Corventas de Colombia Ltda, Ferretería Sicar Ltda. were selected. A structured survey and an open and historical personal interview were applied for gathering information. Field work showed, that 33% of the familiar companies managed to enter the second generation, while only 13% reached the third one, indicating fragility, if the company is not ready to accept the changes which the modernization of enterprise processes, of dynamics and of shifts in the commercial and administrative management implies. As critical factors few market and trade scheme research, weak incorporation of logistic distribution systems, incipient use of promotional strategies and scarce application of commercial information were identified. The impact of the organizational climate in its commercial system reduced the growth possibility and the lack of integration of the processes disabled the identification and the offering of added values within the productive chain. Based on these weaknesses, a commercial management model was formulated with the purpose to propose policies and strategies that allow the familiar companies to obtain higher competitiveness and sustainability levels.

The structure and floristic composition in a fragmented habitat defines, together with the adaptation capacity and the low dependence toward a resource, the probability of survival of an animal species. Considering that the effect of the degradation and fragmentation of the natural habitat on the population remainders of the mountain paca (Agouti taczanowskii) is not well known, ¡t was looked for to establish differences among the spatial distribution of the food sources in a cloud forest with different intervention grades. Starting from the information obtained in cafeteria trials, 24 families, distributed in 36 plant genera, consumed with more preference by the species, were evaluated in relation to the relative frequency and density. It was determined that, the presence of a matrix with plant communities in different successional stages defines the differences in the composition and floristic structure, as well as in the spatial distribution patterns of the evaluated feeding resource. The presence of areas with moderate intervention, surrounded by forest. Favors the natural regeneration with plant species consumed by, A. taczanowskiioffering forage patches with a probable higher digestibility for the species.
