Introduction: The aquatic rescue in Colombia is a little evaluated activity in physical conditions in the lifeguards, although there is scientific literature that refers to the physical capacities in the lifeguard this is mostly in beach lifeguards being very limited the information regarding rescue personnel in confined water, in Colombia there are no records on a conditional profile in lifeguards, this information is void.
Objectives: To determine the conditional profile of water rescue personnel in Bogotá, in the company’s Fundación Deporteo and Campus Activo.
Methodology: 17 lifeguards belonging to the Fundación Deporteo and Active Campus companies were given an evaluation battery consisting of 11 physical tests to measure physical condition. Information that was systematized in a database in Excel, and the data were operated through the Rstudio software.
Results: A correlation of quantitative data was made from the physical tests, to determine the conditional profile in water rescue personnel, in which it was determined that the lifeguards have a normal BMI, in strength tests in upper limbs and abdominal area or CORE, a result of 53% regular and 71% bad was obtained respectively on the total of those evaluated, and for resistance 47% as a regular result.
Conclusions: In the lifeguards evaluated in Bogotá, there is a deficit in the development of physical qualities, which is established as a modifiable intrinsic risk factor for the presence of injuries, however in the Colombian population the records are limited, which is why it is important to continue conducting studies of this type.
