This paper describes the case of a male canine, of 8-year-old Golden Retriever breed who admitted at the veterinary clinic of Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales. At the time of the consultation, the patient had soft stools, vomiting, exercise intolerance, forced breathing and coughing. As clinical and laboratory findings was found lethargy, tachypnea, muffled heart sounds, pericardial effusion leukocytosis, neutrophilia, metarrubricites, proteinuria, ALT and creatinine raised. Pericardiocentesis was performed and treatment was initiated with Hartmann's solution (1 ml / kg / hour), sodium enoxaparin (0.5 mg / kg), furosemide (2mg / kg), ampicillin / sulbactam (20 mg / kg), omeprazole (0.7 mg / kg), ondansetron (0.5 mg / kg), sucralfate (5ml). Based on laboratory tests, the presence of a heart-kidney syndrome of cardiac origin was verified.
