Introduction: The present study describes the behavior of the moods of the student athletes that belong to a team sport of the UDCA and the correlation with the sport results obtained in the ASCUN-2019 tournament at local level. Main objective: Evaluate the profiles of the moods of the student athletes that belong to a team sport at the University of Applied and Environmental Sciences, UDCA of Bogotá, to provide coaches, managers with relevant information, in order to obtain better performance and sports results. Methodology: Information relevant to the research was reviewed in the ProQuest, SportDiscus, Scopus, PubMed, Elsevier ScienceDirect and APA PsycNet databases. In which 6 functional articles on the instrument were found about the Profile of Mood States (POMS) instrument that has been used in high-performance athletes (McNair & Heurchert, Profile of Mood States, 2nd Edition, 2014) and in students (Gallardo, et al., 2019) (Torres, et al., 2018) (Umeda, et al., 2008) (Andrade, Arce, & Seaone, Adaptación al español del cuestionario «Perfil de los Estados de Ánimo» en una muestra de deportistas, 2002) (Terry & Lane, 2000) (Balaguer, Fuentes, Meliá, Pérez, & García, 1993). With its adapted version, 47 student-athletes were interviewed prior to a training session. The test consists in 38 items that were measured with a Likert scale (0-4) and are grouped into 4 mood states: Tension, depression, vigor and fatigue. Results: Were tension (8.9), depression (10.1), vigor (21.25) and fatigue (10.5). Significant differences were found for tension, depression, vigor, and fatigue. The correlation with the sport results were tension (0.9), depression (0.6), vigor (-0.39) and fatigue (0.54). Conclusion: the results were variable and high for the tension, depression, and fatigue scales. Likewise, correlation degree was positive, between strong and moderate, so that mean they affect the students' good or bad sports results. However, it is argued that the results may be influenced by factors external to sports practice and be linked to the academic factor. Finally, knowing these results could help coaches and managers in preparing athletes for future competitions
