The loss of landscape connectivity translates into a decrease in the joint operation of ecological flows or processes, in the department of Caquetá 13 protected areas are located, covering 38.50% of its area under legal conservation means, these depend on the flows; As a result of the interaction of the Andes - Amazon system elements, this is why this investigation wants to know, what is the state of connectivity of the protected areas of the department of Caquetá ?, through the analysis of the connectivity between these by mean of the identification of the elements characteristics grouped into five planetary systems and the elaboration of a cost surface representing the degree of the propagation of flows in the landscape is limited or favored, which was necessary to quantify the state of the connectivity between protected areas of the department.
This work is part of the research project led by Prof. Dr. Grace Andrea Montoya Rojas, entitled: "Phase II: Analyze the ecosystem benefits of soil regulation in the environmental history of the hydrographic basin-city relationship." Project that is part of the Geoperspectives of the research group - INGEDET of the Univer5sidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales - U.D.C.A.
The identified elements characteristics showed that they have a systemic behavior, which means that they are interrelated, allowing higher flows movements in a greater percentage and to a lesser amount moderate movements and with difficulty, this was reflected in the fact that 38.45% of the department area are protected and well connected, which means that 99% of protected areas are well connected, it was identified that this value depends almost entirely on the state of elements conservation around the PNN Serranía de Chiribiquete and its extension. On the other hand, the remaining 1% is distributed mainly in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, followed by Cartagena del Chairá and lastly in Florencia. It was considered that, due to the great influence of land cover on the flows propagation, these results are linked to the year to which this information corresponds, in this case to 2018.
