Ketosis is a metabolic disease that occurs as a result of a disorder in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats: it is characterized by hypercetonemia and ketonuria, hypoglycemia, as well as a tendency to fatty degeneration of the liver. Due to the complications generated by the subclinical certainty, it becomes relevant to determine its prevalence in the specialized productions, in this case in Complejo Agropecuario Industrial, Tizayuca, a control by a veterinary doctor of Bayer, in the stables It allows. Risk factors include poor energy intake in the ration, high protein intake, excessively obese cows, the number of lactations, high milk production, excessive silage intake and lack of exercise due to permanent stability. Milk production of dairy cattle reaches its peak at approximately 4 weeks after calving, but food intake on a dry matter base does not reach its peak until 7 to 8 weeks. Dairy cows in high production are in negative economic balance (BEN) for up to 8 weeks, despite the provision of an acceptable and high quality diet. Because of BEN, the cow must mobilize body fat and protein in the form of triglycerides and amino acids for gluconeogenesis. The present study aims to describe a population clinical case, the general aspects of the presentation of ketosis and the control and diagnostic strategies in dairy herds.
