With technological development, research in the health field and joint with other factors, the increase in life expectance has been allowed, generating a demographic change in the world, more representative in some countries than in others. Colombia is no stranger to this change. Elderly is a vulnerable group, the physiological characteristics of aging, life style, socioeconomic conditions besides the comorbidities that they bear predispose to suffer from some cardiovascular disease. Based on this, in the health field, this population has been excluded from clinical trials to the therapeutic management and decisions in the clinical behavior of different diseases, among them the acute coronary syndrome, first cause of mortality in this population; due to there is not enough evidence to justify the decisions for choosing the best treatment and behaviors that improve the quality of life. Because of this it is necessary to perform new studies on this age group to obtain a reliable picture of risk and outcomes according to the therapeutic management, thah allows to improve survival, reduce recidivism and guarantee life style conditions optimal living conditions after a cardiovascular event. The purpose of this research is to describe the characteristics (sociodemographic, clinical and outcomes) of this age group through a trnasversal study, making use of information consolidated in the clinical history, and identifying the reasons why a therapeutic behavior is chosen in them.
