Chronic traumatic encephalopathy is a neurodegenerative disease resulting from the accumulation of numerous traumatic brain injuries. Its associated risk factor is exposure to concussions (mild brain injuries) related to contact sports and high performance or situations that expose the individual to suffer of this. Although there are promising diagnostic elements are not currently a reality and the key to the management of this disease is the prevention and early detection of its first symptoms. Justification. Recognizing as a risk factor the practice of high performance sports as a cause of traumas and traumas as the main trigger of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, the need to review and study new diseases is identified, in order to provide a contribution to health sciences, helping the professional to improve their actions based on knowledge.
