To know the response of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) to applications of phosphorus and potassium in the Caquetá (Colombia) State, a research was carried out at the village of Paujil, located at 420 m.a.s.l., temperature 28°C, rainfall 3400 mm/year and 85% relative humidity. The soil was classified as Vertic Paleudult, with a clay texture, acid, 75% aluminum saturation, low content of phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, zinc and boron and médium content of potassium. A split plot design was used with three replicates of eight trees each. The main plots were the clones, and the subplots the levels of phosphorus and potassium applied. Clones evaluated were IAN 710, IAN 873 and FX 3864. Treatments corresponded to: T1 = Control;T2 = 50 kg—K,0/ha;T3 = 50 kg P20 5/ha;T4 = 50 kg K20/ha and 50 kg P20,/ha; T5 = 100 kg P20 5/ha; T6 = 100 kg P2Os/ha and 50 kg K ,0/ha. The parameters evaluated were dry rubber yield and the increase of the stem circumference. Significan! difference of yield was found between IAN-710 and IAN-873 and FX-3864.The highest yield was obtained with T5. With 100kg of P20 5 the application of K20 (T6), decreased the yield, probably due to unbalanced Ca:Mg:K relationship. The least yield was obtained in the Controls of all the three clones. Significant differences of circumference increase was obtained in all clones and treatments. The yield during the first term of the year was lower than during the second term, due to the difference in precipitaron, 2500mm and 900mm respectively. For clones IAN 873 and FX 3864 the best cost-benefit relation corresponded to treatment No.5, and for IAN 710 to treatment No. 2.
