Introduction: The horizontal jump is a variable that is used to determine the power in the lower train. Objective: To determine the power level of athletes in training in the municipality of Tocancipa from the horizontal jump test without impulse based on the characteristics of gender, age and sports modality. Methodology: The kind of study is quantitative of descriptive kind with not experimental design of transversal cut. Population: The population sample was 492 athletes among children from 8 to 17 years of age who are enrolled in the 11 sports evaluated belonging to the municipal recreation and sports institute of Tocancipa Results: The results showed that 17 years old boys and 16 years old girls got the best results with an average of 192,1±12,8cm and 142±10,6cm respectively. The population that shows the lowest values are the 9 years old boys with an average of 115,8±11,4cm and 10 years old girls with an average of 114,6±20,4cm. Conclusion: In conclusion the power level of athletes in training in the municipality of Tocancipa goes among 20 and 90 percentile nevertheless the athletes that got a result in the test under 20 percentile have a low level of muscular development and the participants who got over the 90 percentile are the indicator of sport talent.
