Desertification is understood as the degradation of land and is in a chemical or physical way. Is a problem that results in the loss of natural cycles, which entails the weakening of economic production and with it, the imbalance of the social structure that has been formed from the use of land. The objective of this work is to prioritize the zones for the conservation of the ecosystems, to demonstrate the ecosystem services of the support and the processes of desertification.
The methodology has been done through three phases: the first was a description of the systems of the study area and the services of the media that are in. The second phase, through a multicriteria system was to determined the ecosystems in the basin that should be prioritized, and in the third phase, a proposal was made of the areas that should be prioritized by criteria proposed by the authors.
As a general result we have a description of the WCR ecosystems, and the ecosystem services offered by them, besides the especialization of some support ecosystems they provide. Through the second phase, a map of the zones that should be protected was obtained, and on the third phase, three conservations zones were obtain, those zones can be implemented to mitigate the progressive progress of the phenomenon of desertification.
It is concluded that the technical services have been corrected, the work in the field has confirmed the information in the cartography. Problematic activities such as desertification, in addition to what is stated in the municipalities of CMR, are implemented in the conservation of areas different from those defined by Corpoboyacá, to ensure its economic balance in the future.
