Evaluation of aerobic condition of persons that decide to start sport activities or of those already in the competiti- ve elite, ¡s more than an obligation a necessity. However, the great majority of the protocols used at present are designed for an ambient different to Bogotá, so it beco- mes necessary to evalúate Cooper's test, contributing with data that allow professionals in Sport Sciences and careers tunes, higher effectiveness in their daily work. Some physical tests evalúate the Máximum Capacity of Absorption of Oxygen. This procedure requires the re- gistration and measurement of one or more physiolo- gical and physical variables by means of the realization of certain motrix tasks by the tested individuáis. For this study different inclusión and exclusión tests were desig- ned for the 220 students of the Sport Sciences Program to establish a final sample of 30 males. Cooper's test and an ergospirometric test (METAMAX II) were applied for three times, taking into account the best performance and using the protocol mentioned in the book “New Aerobics”, described by Cooper. Results indícate a high variability comparing calculated V02 máx. data with the ergospirometry valué. The statistical analysis showed re- lative errors of 71 % and 91 % respectively within standard deviation and sample variance, reflecting that other pa- rameters besides the distance traveled by the sportsman musí be taken into account.
