This research had four fundamental topics (difficulties, cognitive obstacles, mathematics didactic and curriculum), which allowed, through the collected information and observation, with the use of specially, for this purpose, designed instruments, to analyze the aspects that hinder students to ha ve a better comprehension of a math problem when they interpreted, modeled and solved it and compared the solution with the context of the problem. In this work some of the tests assigned to the students were very simple, since the intention was to measure the vvay how to another. The permanent observation of class work during problem solving allowed a better perception of the paths with possible difficulties. For that purpose the way how they solved math problems within different contexts, how they wrote, read and transferred information from one language to another was studied. Existence of cognitive obstacles such as didactical, epistemológica! or psychological ones were also observed.
